The Elysium Project

The Elysium project was initiated in the summer of 2022 by a small group of Dark Age of Camelot enthusiasts and to-date much progress has been made.  The team currently consists of software engineers and professional game designers who have experience in creating and managing daoc freeshards through the Dawn of Light emulator, and or have been part of the freeshard community for many years as players.

At it’s core, Elysium is a classic server, with a patch level starting from 1.65. This is the base starting point – not a strict vision. We will administer custom changes to provide balance and quality of life through all aspects of the game.

 

Keeping it simple

DAoC is a simple game, and we want to keep it simple. We believe there is a beauty about letting the game be as it was intended to be. We want the natural game to shine through, and this is what we all love about it. Realm pride and community will be at the heart of the server.

 

The World

The world in Elysium is custom built, meaning every npc, merchant, guard, mob, item and loot table has been wiped and a new world has been created by a team of world builders. We did this regardless of having a 1.65 database, becasue we want to provide a revolutionary experience for players within a dark age world. Our goal is to make the world feel alive and dynamic, through the use of world events and AI.
